At A Glance – Initiatives of HCCOBA
Here are several projects, HCCOBA contributed to school infrastructure development:
- 1997 - Computer Classes
- 1998 - New three story building
- 2000 - Botanical Garden
- 2000 - Built a water pond next to the ‘Viththaga Vinayagar Kovil, and also placed a statue of Goddess Saraswathy and 4 statues of Bharathy, Valluvar, Kambar and Elango in its vicinity
- 2000 – To prepare the Golden Jubilee, the school’s infrastructure was repaired and buildings were painted
- 2001 - The Indoor Stadium & Badminton Stadium
- 2002 - Primary Library, Computer Laboratory, New Canteen and the renovated library - 2002 - Newly constructed playground which gives a new looks for sports at Hindu College
- 2003 - School’s walking pathway was rebuilt with concrete blocks and completion of science laboratory for grade 6-9 students
- 2003 - Audio systems to all the classrooms and multimedia projector - 2004 – Renovation of the school entrance
- 2004 - The OBA constructed a scoreboard with fully equipped office underneath - 2005 – Newly constructed Vasantha Mandabam to temple improved spiritual atmosphere
- 2006 – Refurbishment of College Auditorium
- 2008 – Construction of School Entrance
- 2008 - Co-operative society was repaired with allocation of Prefects’ room and the St. John Ambulance’s room
- 2010 -CCTV security system installation. Art Gallery & Computer laboratory renovation. - 2014 – School Library renovation
- 2016 - Cricket Nets were built and were opened in the presence of Sri Lankan cricketers Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara
- 2017 - Washroom renovation and upgrade toward sanitary
- 2018 - The school ground renovation was started with the contribution received from several events organized by the HCCOBA. The renovation completed in year 2020 - 2018 - Sports complex construction. Project still ongoing
- 2018 - Pavilion renovation
- 2019 – Painted the school entrance
- 2019 - Many classrooms were painted and renovated due to conversation of smart classroom concept
- 2022 – New table tennis sports equipment
- 2022 – Refurbishment of Administration and Principle Office

- Annual Sports Meets
- Coaching, Sports equipment and related expenses
- 2000 - 2002 - Entire Playground renovated by HCCOBA
- 2004 - The OBA constructed a scoreboard with fully equipped office underneath - 2018 – 2020 – Playground renovated and maintenance
- 2007 - HCCOBA organized Hindurite Challenge Cup – All island football tournaments over 60 schools participated
- 2013 - HCCOBA established Battle of Hindus – Cricket Encounter big match with Jaffna Hindu College after 20 years
- 2016 - Cricket Nets were built and were opened in the presence of Sri Lankan cricketers Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara
- 2018 - Sports complex construction. Project still ongoing
- 2018 - Pavilion renovation

- Annual Walks
- “Hinduvin Iniya Malai” entertainment show
- Back-to-school functions
- A career development and leadership program
- 2018 - Eduexpo program to expose students to a wide range of possibilities.
Here are several projects, HCCOBA contributed to social welfare:
- 1994 – Program to protection against dengue. Organized school clean-up programs, conducted health camps and awareness program to students
- 2004 - Supports the tsunami victims under “hands on hands” program - 2016 - Supports the flood victims under “hands on hands” program
- 2021 - Supporting students and teachers to purchase smartphones and providing data packages during the COVID-19 pandemic
- 2022 - Social welfare program of providing nutritious midday meal to around 100 primary school kids
